Gareth Says – Discretionary Funds Information

I get a lot of questions regarding how our discretionary funds operate, so I thought an explanation was worthy of newsprint.

The Discretionary Fund Manager (DFM) is LGT Vestra, they have the powers, M&T do not. They have to agree to any suggestions.

M&T have a ‘voice’ in the proceedings and we send our suggestions to LGT and they vet them and usually come back with suggestions or amendments and a plan is put together.

LGT Vestra have a huge research facility so if they advise us not to invest in a particular fund we should listen. This is a partnership but they are the lead partner.

We have quarterly ‘Zoom’ meetings with additional if needed. I am very happy with the relationship. They are excellent people to do business with and a joy to partner with.
