Gareth Says – COVID PERFORMANCE
I thought it worthwhile to compare the performance of some funds from before the Covid crisis struck, until now.
After speaking with many clients, the general feeling is that they have not caught up yet from the losses made in March 2020 when the FTSE lost over 30%, however, a look at the table below shows this not to be the case. There are other factors, such as income withdrawals that could affect the final outcome, but I hope you find it interesting.
INVESTMENT | PERFORMANCE 18 MONTHS 17.02.20 – 17.08.21(%) | COMMENTS |
FTSE | -(3.5) | |
PruFund Cautious | +8.1 | Pension & ISA |
PruFund Growth | +6.1 | Pension & ISA |
Aviva Smooth Managed | +9.7 | Pension |
Aviva Smooth Managed | +6.5 | Investment Bond |
M&T Restrained | +5.0 | |
M&T Balanced Perspective | +8.7 | |
M&T Opportunity | +17.0 | |
M&T Rollercoaster | +24.4 | Only launched 28.08.20 |
I feel that when the UK market starts to perform the FTSE may well overtake some of the funds as it is 100% invested in equities, but nevertheless it is relatively interesting at this stage of the market cycle.
Gareth.
