Gareth Says – ‘Steady as she goes’

I thought I would share a graph with you showing the performance of the Prudential Cautious and Growth funds versus the FTSE when invested via an ISA over the last 3 years.

The graph highlights a number of points:

1.Both the Cautious and Growth are above the February 2020 high, but the FTSE is not.

2.Neither the Cautious nor Growth were as volatile as the FTSE, they did not fall as far.

3.I believe this justifies having them in client’s portfolio’s, especially when you are seeking income as you want as low volatility as possible.

4.Sometimes the tortoise does beat the hare!

5.To be even handed I would expect the FTSE to catch up in the medium term.
